This would be fantastic!

This really would be a big deal! I definitly am fan of Toodledo since years, but currently the lack of more levels of subtasks is THE disadvantage compared to other taskmanagers.

Please! this was one of my favorite features of Ultimate Task Manager on Android, and is in line with the Franklin Covey planning process. Not having this feature in Toodledo made me consider cancelling my subscription over the last two years - when I find an application that has this feature, I would leave Toodledo for that (and I like Toodledo otherwise).

Yes - please! (And, as others say, perhaps adding even more than one additional level.)

This feature would also serve well as ground work for possible improvement for Outlines module - to be able to convert an Outline directly to tasks and (sub)subtasks would improve its usability for outlining projects to a great degree!

I have using GTD for years. Toodledo was my first task manager. Since then I have tried almost all the options available in the market. If I did not give it a try it was because I could not find it. Many of them were tried more than once. And I am yet to see one that implements GTD and has multiple subtasks levels. Call it what you want. Folders, Projects, subprojects, tasks, subtasks. But I am pretty sure that it is competitive advantage to have this feature and an automation to make one task change status based on the completion of another one. The later is less important. But I am pretty sure that I am not alone in this search.

The reason number one my setup fails me from time to time is the lack of proper break down the tasks in activities that are atomic. When I pass 2 weeks looking to something in my priority list and I don't do it, it is surely because it is too complex to be solved at once, and I have to subtask it. Sometimes it is already a subtask. I really think that someone, any single random person, that lists all the tasks he has to do at this level of detail will very quickly have an unmanageable list of tasks. So some hierarchie is needed.

I Need subtasks of subtasks of subtasks... There's a lot of screen real estate for indenting and a scrollbar would make that pretty much infinite. It's not a hard database concept. Each task would have a parent field. If you want to know what children a task has, just pull up every task who has it as a parent. If there's concern about how long the recursion look up would take to make sure a child isn't made its own grandparent, go ahead and limit the nesting level to 10 or 20 or so. This is just really not that hard of a concept and unless the original database schema or software design has made it so. And this is the number one reason I'll be leaving Toodledo.
