Allow edit of Completed Date

To have an accurate record of when tasks are completed, one needs to be able to edit the completed date of a task. There is no way to do that presently. The completed date is the day you check off a task. If you don't check it off on the date it's done, there is no way to correct it.

As PamelaH mentioned: This is fixed now (see below)

complete
This is now available in the "new" tasks page -- make sure you're sorted by completed date as one of your sort options and then you'll be able to edit the completion date.

PamelaH: Thanks. Please remind me how to GET to the 'new' interface!! :)

curtisc_1337545806: you can navigate to tasks.toodledo.com (rather than www.toodledo.com/tasks). There’s a place in settings where you can change your default here: https://www.toodledo.com/account_edit.php?edit=7

PamelaH: Thank you!! Are we only able to change the completion date AFTER it's been completed? Is it possible to edit the completion date before it's been checked off?

PamelaH: This must have been changed in the last year because it doesn't work anymore.

pjc900 Can you elaborate on what doesn't work? Are you using the tasks page at tasks.toodledo.com and clicking on the Completion Date in the grid? Are you not able to see the popup when you click on the date?

PamelaH: Thanks for replying - I had changed "Tasks Section Version" to "New (tasks.toodledo.com)" and it went to that URL initially but after a few clicks it seemed to go back to the old "www.toodledo.com/tasks" and I didn't notice up in the URL bar that it had reverted. So after seeing your response I typed-in the "tasks.toodledo.com" in the URL bar (and did the sort on "Completed date") and was able to confirm that it is indeed possible to change the completed date. Perhaps the reason it was reverting initially was that my browser was saving the old config and I would have just needed to restart my browser (not sure). Anyway, you are right - It works now! Thanks again!

You definitely require a completed date and not Yesterday or Tomorrow.

This could be a deal breaker, I hope it's in consideration!

Being able to edit completed date would be awesome. My workaround is duplicating another task that was completed that day and editing it to be correct - but its a big pain.

This feature is so important. I'm commenting to try to get others to vote for this. Thanks!

This feature is critical to using the app if you want to have an honest record of your task performance that can help you decide whether and how you need to change your approach to be more productive. What if you don't finish until after midnight? What if you're so busy working that you forget or lack the time to check tasks off the day they're done? I have used Quicken to manage my finances for 20 years and it's never had this problem. At the moment I am resorting to marking tasks not checked off the day they're done by assigning them to a special goal, sorting to view all tasks with that goal, and then changing the date on my phone to the completion date and checking them off on the mobile app. But Toodledo is supposed to help to get tasks done, not create more of them -- right?

I agree. I often lack the time to record completion until later.

This would be great and solve another issue: importing completed tasks! (That way I can import completed tasks which currently is not a feature by just importing them and then marking complete and changing completed date to the correct date.)
