Drag and drop tasks to change due date
c

I would like to see a view in which you can easily drag and drop various tasks on a calendar to change their due dates. Also, the ability with batch update to select those task that you want to batch update, rather than have it an all or nothing deal. Thanks for considering my request. -- Carl

Thanks for your feedback!
There is a little-known feature where you can select tasks to batch update -- you need to have keyboard shortcuts enabled here: https://www.toodledo.com/account_edit.php?edit=11
Then you can hold down the "L" key while you click to multi-select.
We do plan to make this easier to use.
For drag and drop, I'm going to merge this into a different post with the same request.

PamelaH: Thanks for the tip, but this feature appears broken. I can highlight tasks holding down the L key as you describe. However, when I change the due date, for instance, I get a message that says n number of tasks will be modify, but when I confirm it and let the process complete nothing actually happens. The due dates stay the same. I remember now that I had tried this earlier, before the ownership change and had the same result on multiple browsers. It doesn’t matter if I choose a few tasks — two or three — or a larger number, nothing actually changes. It’s either a glitch in the whole system or my account is corrupt in some way. Whatever it is, it is frustrating. I do believe that you are working hard to make things right. That’s why I came back. — Carl

cjdenbow: I apologize if you know this already, and will look into it if it turns out to be something in your account -- but have you made sure that the "On" switch is flipped for the "Due Date" before clicking save?

PamelaH: Now that you mention it, I’m not sure. I’ll go back and check and get back to you.

When I get into Batch Edit I don't see a screen that looks like that. Below is what I see, and if I scroll over to the right there's just a blank space, nothing like the list of switches in your screen shot. Of course I check the box beside the Due Date entry and select a new date before proceeding. The problem is that it just doesn't actually change anything when confirming that n number of items will change. As I said, they don't!

cjdenbow: Oh, ok I see you are on the old version of the tasks page. The screenshot I showed was from the "new" tasks page https://tasks.toodledo.com/main (which is actually from 2018/2019 I think).
It is very strange that it doesn't work on your account - does the new tasks page work?
c
cjdenbow
PamelaH: Yes, it did work when I followed the link you provided. Why have I never seen the new task page before? Was that a glitch in my account that you can fix on your end?
P
PamelaH
cjdenbow: It's a setting you can toggle here: https://www.toodledo.com/account_edit.php?edit=7 (Just change Task Section Version from "Original" to "New").
I believe when it was first rolled out, the default task page wasn't changed for existing accounts; it was just left as an option for users to choose which layout they wanted.

PamelaH: Okay, thanks, I've done that now. I was in and out of Toodledo several times over the last five years because of the previous ownership changes and all the confusion. I came back to it because of the promise of this ownership change. I suspect that this Task Version change must have occurred during one of my absences and then I never noticed it on subsequent returns -- which were usually for brief periods -- until I got frustrated and bolted again and used another program for awhile. This time I'm optimistic that Toodledo will return to its former glory. Your very responsive customer service has given me real hope! ;-)

Drag and Drop Task reschedule

Allow user to drag a task to a new date for example drag a task from Monday to Weds and automatically change date. Will reduce task date changes effort by at least 50% (do not have to open task, select calendar and date, click, close)

This should be like Pocket Informant either the IOS or Mac version

Yes, I totally agree. That's why still I'm using the free plan. If I'll be able to "drag and drop", will be chosen upgrade plan.

This one is a must, with the advancements made to web browsers it should be a standard feature I think.
