Google Calendar Two-way Sync

To ensure that a task gets done it is often useful to have it appear in Google Calendar and to be able to edit atleast the Due Date in the calendar itself, which should register/sync in Toodledo and make it shift places in the Google Calendar.

Google Calandar Sync works GREAT the way it is now. Please do not mess with it!

As at 22 September 2021, the process set out at https://www.toodledo.com/tools/connect_google.php is not working, 24 hours after connecting my Google Calendar despite a "success" message in this screenshot attached. There is no Google Calendar on Google Calendar named "Toodledo".

Philippe_1407980929: Did you ever get this to work? I have experienced the same thing. I submitted the form and nothing! I could not get the one way .ics sync to work either.

wmmurray: Nope. Tried various times in various ways without success.

Philippe_1407980929: Can you send a support ticket at https://www.toodledo.com/info/ticket.php if this still isn't working for you?

PamelaH: I have got it to work. The tasks are showing up in google as all day events. However, I am getting many repeated events which makes it pretty much unuseable.

wmmurray: This was an issue that we fixed a couple weeks ago I believe -- can you try disconnecting the sync, deleting the Toodledo Google Calendar, then reconnecting the sync?
I apologize for all these issues, we are re-working the way the sync is done and it should be more stable (and a real-time sync) once we're done with that.

Hi All! I want to provide a quick update on this feature. We have heard from many of you that you are getting the error: "Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app". We looked into this and found that it is due to the app needing to be verified with Google. So a couple weeks ago we kicked off the process and made some changes so the app is compatible with Google's latest requirements.
The good news is that we have received verification today that the app was approved. So hopefully this issue is fixed -- if you still see it, please let me know.
Second, we understand that the syncing frequency is an issue with some (most?) users! We did change this frequency to 5 mins rather than 15, but in order to make it instantaneous, we need to do some rework, which will take some time. So please be patient, we know this is an issue and will be working to improve this syncing (we don't want it to delay the new mobile apps).
That being said, please leave your suggestions here!

This is far from complete. Still not working. Produces error: "Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app". Come on guys!

This feature is posted as complete, but I'm unable to sync my calendar with any regularity. It takes at least 24 hours for an update which is pretty useless. I see the GQueues is real-time sync'ing. Is this possible?

dripke: that sounds like the old ical feed. check https://www.toodledo.com/tools/connect_google.php for the new 2 way sync. Last I heard, the sync should be every 15 minutes. Unfortunately, that is STILL unusable for me. It needs to be at least near instant.

aaron: thanks for the progress on this! unfortunately, though, a 1-hour sync interval renders this feature useless to me. It needs to be instant, continuous syncing. still glad to progress and maybe this is only the first version!

Pipedrive has a killer google calendar sync. If toodledo had something similar, it would be GREAT. Tasks show up on the calendar as an EVENT and they can be move from either Pipedrive OR google calendar and the changes show on each side. completed tasks in the pipedrive app remain on calendar but text is crossed out. Please please please expedite this, it's the main missing link. google tasks lack the details needed to be useful so the events work better.

nathanbauman1: Completely agree. I would not consider this as complete as long as tasks show up as events and no two-way sync when you complete them.

I use "Informant" aka Pocket Informant in order to bring together my Toodledo, Google Calendar, and Evernote items all into one place.

Rob_Y: Informant has some great features like multiple selection edits and a decent though primitive version of sequential tasks management. But I quit using it several years ago because of the many bugs and crashes -- the best efficiency features took more time because they did not work properly. I understand in recent years it has gotten even worse. I have been back to TD ever since, and I would love to see such features if they can be implemented without the bugs.

I'm not sure if the following request is technically feasible using Google Calendar two-way sync, but I'd love to be able to create a new Event in the Calendar and then see (or drag-drop) a bunch of Toodledo tasks into that Event quickly. Now, I could do this with cut-and-paste, but it is a bit cumbersome.
