I would like to rename the priority levels to custom labels that we can edit as we see fit: "Critical" "Important" etc.
I second Wayne T.'s suggestion. So much of this interface can be customized already; it seems like this would be a natural step.
I've gotten used to mentally substituting my own meanings for the priority level numbers, but it would be nice to be able to make it explicit.
For example, I classify the priority of each task as one of: Must, Should, or Could (Must is only for tasks that are mandatory, such as filing taxes, or getting a cavity filled, for example.) I've also added the category of things I Want to do (before Should, because otherwise my life was a soul-sucking list of obligations), and ideas for the future. If we could rename them, this is what I would do:
3 - Must
2 - Want
1 - Should
0 - Could
-1 - Ideas
But others may have completely different meanings they would want to use for these priority numbers. (Also others may want more priority levels.)
Combining these with Urgency (due date) yields things like Linenberger's Critical Now, or Covey' Quadrant I.
I think this aligns with Toodledo's core and differentiating strengths. So, yes!
How about if you allow us to edit the labels as we see fit?
@sknipfing: Sorry if I wasn't clear, that is my intention for the proposal.
@Wayne T.: cool!
