Bug (Android): Tasks seem to sync (number in "All tasks" matches web interface), but tasks never show in a list, just keeps swirling as if updating (Legacy app still works fine)

Hi there, I have quite a few tasks ("All tasks" on web interface shows 4844.. Yes.. I know...), but after leaving for hours, the tasks never show up in the list to view, just the same "Loading your tasks" swirl. Have tried reinstalling the app also .
The number of tasks matches the number shown on the web interface when I open the side menu (which closes fine when I tap back on where the tasks should be), but never show up.
In the settings, "Last sync" datestamp is current, and I can also choose "sync", and it syncs briefly and comes back.. but again, no tasks show in list
