In the web site and old toodledo app there is a Lists section which is useful for shopping lists, with preformatted columns like item, aisle, and price. That is all I really use the phone app for, so not having it in the new app makes the new app not useful for me.

The current List feature is hampered by the lack of any connection between Lists and Tasks.
Whilst bringing Lists to the App please also look at adding a Column Type of "Add as Task" which would add a checkbox to an item that when selected would convert that item into a task.
So for say, a Shopping, list you could select one or more List items in the "Add as Task" column and, when saved, this would automatically create task(s) from the list items.
IMHO this would make Lists much more useful.

I second this. I used both lists and to-do and hope the list function will be coming back.
